Italy polling update, 21-03-08: gap 8.4%

New polls from Demopolis, Agron and Makno – the last two of which are new entrants to the race behind the election, the race for least convincing pollster – take the gap up to 8.4%.

Note that:

  • The Makno estimates are way out of line. This is not because they treat don’t knows differently – although they do helpfully distinguish between first response and response upon further prompting.
  • The disastrous results for the UDC in the Makno poll mean that they are projected to win no seats in the Senate. Of course, we already know that they’re looking comfortable in Sicily, so will probably pull off something there

In other news, SWG has been running polls on regions in the balance (Piemonte, Liguria, Campania and Lazio). The PdL wins the first three, according to them. My projections say that the PdL would win a clean sweep. More at RightNation.

Buona pasqua a tutti, sondaggisti compresi!
