- Il Sole 24 Ore: eponymous newspaper and its associated offspring (11.5%)
- Caltagirone Editore: Il Messaggero, Il Mattino, Leggo, Il Gazzettino (10.4)
- Poligrafici Editori: Resto del Carlino, La Nazione, Il Giorno (8.5)

Update: the HHI for the UK in 1993 [old data, using circulation, not market share] was 2723, so actually higher. Contrariwise, a 1993 Competition Commission report suggests that using revenue share, concentration is 1,611 (moderately concentrated, and less thna Italy).
