Julianne Schultz and Michael Lynch are the first two directors to be appointed to the ABC board under a new process implemented by the Federal Government to make the system more transparent.

Dr Schultz is the founding editor of the Griffith Review and is a Professor at the Centre for Public Culture and Ideas at Griffith University, while Mr Lynch has served as the Sydney Opera House and Australia Council chief executive.
