Depressing editorial from Pier-Luigi Celli. Celli, a most capable man, is the director of Luiss, the closest thing (with the exception of Bocconi) that Italy has to an ENA; and yet I can’t imagine any Frenchman writing this kind of editorial.

The Cellis are getting the best of the two worlds: a long career for the father in the shadows of political and corporate Italian elites (RAI & Confindustria) and a brilliant future for the son abroad.

True — but doesn’t that make Celli père’s comments all the more serious?
That is, if Celli had had a bad career, and suggested that people leave Italy, we would think it was sour grapes.
Since Celli has had quite a good career, and still says this, I take that as a sign that something is badly wrong.

Of course it is badly wrong, but it is also amusing: Celli does not want his offspring to work in a club that has people like him as members.
